Over 60,000 visitors downloaded the ArtPrize Eight mobile app, developed for both iOS and Android users in partnership with Atomic Object. 380,119 votes were cast for contemporary art during the 19-day event, and the mobile app proved to be the public's preferred way to vote for their favorite entries.

The intersection of art and technology has been at the heart of the ArtPrize event from the beginning; powering the public vote, providing a platform for the artist-venue connections process, and influencing the way artists make and share their work with the public. Since its inception, ArtPrize has sought to understand the demands and realities of event visitors, and to provide effective solutions. Over the last eight years, the organization has built upon this knowledge by leveraging the cloud for more effective data integrations; deploying an effective artist and venue registration process; completely rebuilding the ArtPrize mobile experience; and introducing a seamless way for visitors to deepen their engagement with the ArtPrize event.

Each year, ArtPrize creates an updated iteration of its mobile app, including expanded features and capability to allow mobile voter registration, user-traffic management, and broader content -- all built within a flexible design layout to render the best representation of artwork. Today’s ArtPrize mobile app is making the human experience with art more fulfilling by enhancing the way that audiences engage with contemporary art. It serves as an essential part of the ArtPrize experience -- creating a space for visitors to explore off the beaten path and discover all that the event has to offer.
